Lemon, Oh How I love Lemon.......

Lemon has always been scent that makes me happy. It is like sunshine on a cloudy gray day.
I live in Washington State, I know about cloudy gray days.

We are very lucky right now it is beautiful. A wonderful reason to have a frozen lemonade.

I use lemon oil many different ways. I love it in my smoothies or water but please make sure you are using a brand that is ok to take internally. One that show it has a supplement label.
Why is this important? Because not all essential oils are created equal. They don’t regulate what else they may put in that bottle. As long as what they say it is what it is, is really in it than they are not breaking any laws. Please be safe. It is like the “natural” items. As long as there is one ingredient that is natural they can label it that way....Really??

 Properties of Lemon:

  • Promotes cellular health
  • Uplifts mood
  • Purifying
  • cleansing
  • Antioxidant
  • Astringent
  • invigorating
  • refreshing
It supports the digestive, immune and respiratory systems.  Its fragrance is invigorating, enhancing and warming. Did you know that if you are feeling nauseous you can smell it and it calms those feeling. I have a friend who did that for morning sickness. She said it worked great.
Safety concerns is staying out of the sun for 12 hours after applying because it can be photosensitive.
The odor is a top note that is sweet, sharp, clear citrusy with an intensity of 3.

Emotionally:

It is the oil of focus. The delightful citrusy aroma of lemon nourishes the mind and aids concentration. Lemon supports the emotional body, its major effects are experienced in the mental field. The crisp scent of lemon improves one’s ability to focus. It is great for kids who struggle in school. It teaches us to be mentally present. It dispels confusion and bestows clarity. Lemon clears self judgement. It calms fears and insecurities while restoring confidence in self.

You can find more in the “Emotions and Essential Oils book” They do have it in Kindle form too.
